Enrique enjoys the challenge

Making the most of opportunities and challenges, setting high personal standards and having fun are all ingredients in Enrique Patrickson’s recipe for a successful career.

Enrique Patrickson, ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems’ Business Development Director, says: “I don’t think I have pursued a particular career path. I have always looked for opportunities to have fun in what I do.

“ASSA ABLOY has really been great. There have been plenty of opportunities to develop my talents. My superiors at ASSA ABLOY have been fantastic in challenging me and setting me tasks and missions beyond what I in many cases believed I could achieve.”

Some of those tasks include searching, overseeing and execution of acquisitions globally for ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems, one of the Group’s divisions. He also works with acquisition integration projects.

Enrique thrives on diversity, a quality that suits his varied role. Responsible for the direct sales and distribution business in East Europe, Middle East and Africa as well as acquisitions, every day is filled with new experiences.

“I enjoy the challenges all potential acquisitions impose, the experience and talents of my colleagues, learning, learning and learning, seeing how business strategies work and fail; seeing how ‘culture eats strategy for lunch’ works in real life. The line responsibility role gives me a very good insight into the business dynamics our companies face.”

Enrique joined ASSA ABLOY in 2004, as Manager Corporate Finance working mainly with acquisitions. He soon became head of business development for ASSA ABLOY ITG based in Switzerland, and was also responsible for the company’s marketing department in his role.

These days, Enrique has a hectic schedule that involves “most probably waking up in a hotel room somewhere in the world.” Achieving a work-life balance is important to Enrique who enjoys playing music, tennis, skiing and running “It’s not easy, I try to bring my running shoes with me when I travel and connect with my family and friends at home using Skype,” he says. “When I don’t travel I like spending time with my wonderful family.”
 
With a Master of Science in Business Administration, Enrique has worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Electrolux prior to joining ASSA ABLOY.
