Laura takes the global view

Variety is the word when it comes to Laura Peltonen’s outlook on both work and lifestyle. Laura relishes the fact that no two days are the same in her work as Training Manager at ASSA ABLOY Italia San Giovanni in Persiceto site

“I organize product training courses, both for internal personnel, as well as to our sales representatives, to our customers and to their customers,” Laura says. “My mission is to raise the level of knowledge of ASSA ABLOY products in the Italian market.

“There is no such thing as a typical day, and that is the reason I like my work a lot. One day I can be gathering all the brochures, samples and other training/exhibition material and organizing a shipment; another day I might be making a presentation of the company to our customers.”

“I am quite proud of some of the results that we have achieved after some courses that I have organized,” she says. “Some important customers have become Abloy centers, and other customers have become more interested in buying our products after the training.”

Laura is Finnish, but has now lived in Italy for 15 years, following on from time in Sweden, as well as in Israel and the UK. She wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. “I have quite a global view of the world,” she says.

“This helps a lot when resolving daily problems. I would recommend everyone who has the possibility to spend some time of their life abroad; it really opens your mind.
“But even though I have lived in many countries, I am still a Finn, and proud of it.”
