Besam opens doors to largest shopping center in Paris
Located just five minutes from Paris Orly Airport, the Belle Epine Commercial Center is one of the French capital’s largest shopping and leisure venues. The two-storey facility is home to more than 200 businesses, including shops, restaurants, movie theaters and travel agencies.
In September 2007, Besam France was selected to provide Belle Epine with a total of 58 doors, over half of which were automated sliding door packages. In addition to the 27 break-out sliding doors, four regular automatic sliding doors and 26 manual swing doors (for emergency escape), Besam France will also provide service and maintenance for all the installations.
Besam France Sales Manager Francois-Xavier Vlin says the majority of the doors are to be installed in entryways and vestibules, and that Besam won the contract largely by being able to offer products that blended with the buildings appearance.
“All the doors are designed in the same ADS Frame profile, including the manual-escape swing doors, which match the windows,” Francois-Xavier says. “Our offer also provides a complete solution that includes our own trained technicians for service and maintenance. That consistency was really important to the client.”
Patrick Leheu, architect at Les Architectes CVZ, and responsible for the remodelling of Belle Epine, says: "Apart from making the center look better, compliance with safety standards was a key objective of the project, alongside the safety and comfort of all customers and users.”
CVZ the architect company contracted by the shopping center’s manager SEGECE and SEGECE chose Besam because it offered a global solution, as well as full service, installation and maintenance.
"It was the best solution both technically and aesthetically,” M. Leheu says. “Besam offered solutions that went beyond our expectations, as well as offering to install the doors at night for the comfort of workers and customers."
Francois-Xavier says that securing the contract was a team effort and should put Besam in a good position to earn more business from SEGECE’s parent company, SEGECE, which owns 120 other shopping centers across the country, as well as 64 in Spain.
It was the best solution both technically and aesthetically. Besam offered solutions that went beyond our expectations, as well as offering to install the doors at night for the comfort of workers and customers."
