Abloy UK Introduces Hi-O™ – the Highly Intelligent door operating system – at IFSEC Hall 3A Stand E10 As the access control environment becomes increasingly complex, with a multitude of products from electric locks to door operators expected to communicate with each other, Abloy UK introduces a groundbreaking new access control integration system, Hi-O™ at IFSEC 2009, 11 – 14 May. Hi-O™ (Highly Intelligent Opening) allows any number of electronic door components to be connected over a Controller Area Network (CAN) without the need for complex configuration, as intelligence is built-in to each individual unit rather than one centralised logic unit creating an efficient open-standard ‘plug-and-play’ system. As soon as Hi-O™ devices are installed their door solution communications begin, using auto configuration technology to relay information on functions including identity control, code reading, locking and intruder alarms across the CAN. Hi-O™ is completely scalable, as expansion of the system is achieved by simply connecting a new cable and push-button device. Each device is instantly recognise when plugged into the system, without any time-consuming installation process.
