Following the introduction of the BS EN 1627, Adams Rite is offering support and practical solutions for fabricators and systems houses, to ensure its customers are best equipped to deal with the standard’s impact on the industry.
Prior to its premature announcement in August this year, Adams Rite has been working hard at its UKAS accredited testing facility, to ensure it has the products and services in place to meet with EN 1627 requirements. The new standard, which has been developed in Europe, addresses burglary resistance for pre-hung doors, windows and shutters, stipulating new minimum requirements for resistance to casual or opportunist attack via brute force and manipulation.
Having previously led the market in helping fabricators and system houses test door sets with Adams Rite security and locking solutions, to the industry recognised LPS 1175 and PAS 24 standard,
Adams Rite will be amongst the first to offer the same expert advice and testing facilities for the new EN 1627 standard, when a scheme is formalised later this year. Speaking on Adams Rite’s expertise and the importance of EN 1627.
Andy Stolworthy, Product Manager for Adams Rite, said:
“PAS 24 will still remain relevant for residential applications, but it is expected that the market will drive EN 1627 to become the recognised and required standard for commercial developments.
“It is therefore crucial that systems houses and fabricators are able to supply fit for purpose products that meet the new standard, to avoid missing out on lucrative commercial specifications and public sector developments.
“Adams Rite has a longstanding history of advising and testing to the latest standards, and with its vast product offering to support this, it’s often used by customers as a source of expertise.
“Adams Rite is already at the advanced stages of delivering products and services to support the new EN 1627 legislation, and is excited about working with customers to deliver fit for purpose door sets and help them win work in an increasingly competitive industry.”
