Adams Rite’s EN 1627 testing remains on target

Adams Rite has announced the successful completion of indicative testing to EN 1627, on its, soon-to-be-launched, commercial anti-panic multi-point lock.

Adams Rite has been working throughout 2011 in partnership with its UKAS accredited testing facility to ensure it is in the best position to provide fabricators and systems houses with door locking solutions that will meet the new standard’s requirements.

After its commercial anti-panic multi-point lock, one of several new developments to be launched in 2012, achieved level RC3 in indicative testing, Adams Rite is on schedule to enable complete door sets to meet the new requirements, when testing schemes are formalised.

The new standard, which has been developed in Europe, addresses burglary resistance for pre-hung doors, windows and shutters, stipulating new minimum requirements for resistance to casual or opportunist attack via brute force and manipulation, and Adams Rite will be amongst the first to offer expert advice and testing facilities for the new BS EN 1627 standard.

Speaking on this latest testing success, Andy Stolworthy, Product Manager for Adams Rite, said:

“We anticipate that EN 1627 will become the recognised and required standard for commercial developments, so it’s crucial that systems houses and fabricators are able to supply fit for purpose products that meet the new standard.

“This latest round of testing, further re-enforces Adams Rite’s position in the industry, for providing not only leading locking solutions that meet the latest requirements but the testing facilities and up to date advice to support our customers through their chosen development. Although only indicative at this stage, until authorised testing schemes are announced, it puts us in a strong position and ensures we are well-prepared for 2012 and the changing market demand.”
