Kevin Baynham of JHS Security Systems in Birmingham completed ASSA ABLOY Access Control’s Aperio installation challenge at IFSEC 2011 in just 1.36 minutes, and is the lucky winner of an iPad.
Aperio uses smart technology to enable the wireless integration of mechanical locks into existing access control systems with minimal door modification, allowing easy and cost effective expansion of existing locking systems within refurbished or remodelled public and commercial buildings.
To illustrate its ease of use and how simple it is to install, ASSA ABLOY Access Control launched a competition at IFSEC 2011 to establish the fastest time a traditional mechanical cylinder could be changed to an Aperio cylinder.
Kevin completed the changeover in just 1 minute 36 seconds, fighting off second place Tony Richards from Secure Access Control who took 1.37 minutes and John Sims of Herts Security who completed the task in 1.57 minutes.
Matt Thomas, Managing Director of ASSA ABLOY Access Control, said: “We had a really good response to our competition at IFSEC with some really impressive installation times and many visitors commenting on just how easy Aperio is to install and programme. However, Kevin really stole the show with completing the challenge so quickly and a worthy winner of the iPad.”
With its evolving connectivity and developments in RFID technology, Aperio™ has the capability to connect with almost any online access control system in the marketplace, bringing the benefits of an online access control system to additional doors at far less cost than traditionally possible.
Aperio™ technology is fully supported by the expertise of the new ASSA ABLOY Access Control division, providing technical support and advice, service and after sales care.
