Abloy Distributes Pocket Spec Handbook based on popular App
Security expert Abloy UK now offers a pocket specification handbook that offers a complete guide to compliant security solutions. The Compliant Specifications pamphlet contains the same information as the hugely successful Abloy UK smartphone app.
The helpful app - available for iPhones, iPads and Android devices - allows users to find the right door security solution by quickly selecting suitable products for specification or installation. It then utilises GPS to direct users to their nearest Abloy Centre so the job can be completed quickly and efficiently.
Abloy UK received feedback that a physical version of the app would be very useful, and so it created the Complaint Specifications handbook. The purpose of the handbook is to offer an easy reference point for installers, to ensure they are putting the right products on the right door.
The guide contains everything a person needs to know regarding compliant door solutions, such as product information, technical specifications, and the standards each of the packages meet when installed correctly.
Abloy UK offers compliant electric lock solutions that meet building regulation standards, more specifically those linked to EN179 Emergency Escape (for when the building occupants are aware of the building environment) and EN1125 Panic Escape (for environments used by the general public).
These standards state that even if a door is electronically controlled for access there must be a compliant mechanical means of escape in an emergency. The solutions offered by Abloy UK are highly secure and efficient, and the packages listed in the handbook include everything that is needed for full installation.
Jon Burke, Marketing Manager at Abloy UK, said: “We had excellent feedback from our app and numerous requests for a paper-based copy so we developed the Compliant Specifications Handbook.
“It’s handy for our customers to use and enables them to see straightaway what a compliant solution is and what products are needed to ensure that this is completed.”
