Bradley Woodlands Hospital is a 23-bed care home facility, designed to provide a high standard of care for patients detained under the Mental Health Act. The facility provides a range of small, gender-specific apartments, which allow recovery to be delivered in a domestic environment. ASSA ABLOY Security Solutions and Lincoln Security Locksmiths worked closely with the hospital to ensure that patient and visitor access and freedom was carefully balanced with security. Lincoln Security recommended ASSA’s P600 patented 6-pin cylinders to provide robust, cost effective high security, with the capability to handle complex master key systems on one key profile. Based on a patented new pin technology, with specially designed wings and two tips on each pin, the P600 affords unrivalled protection against bumping and picking, as well as the flexibility to be used both internally and externally on an application, all at a very competitive price point. Sean Falkinder, Sales Development Manager, at Lincoln Security, said: “We have worked in the past with the hospital provider, Lighthouse Healthcare, so it was crucial to ensure that we installed quality products that would be durable and reliable for the hospital, in order to maintain our good relationship with them. “The master key system will allow the hospital’s residents to uphold the freedom and privacy of their own home, with the assurance that staff can still gain access to their rooms, helping to manage risk behaviours with individuals. “I particularly like how the whole key neck locates within the plug; making the risk of key snapping less likely where there are deep cuts on the key.” Simon Wilson, Regional Sales Manager for ASSA ABLOY UK, said: “We have gained extensive experience in the healthcare sector, including securing large-scale public sector buildings and other mental health facilities. We are pleased that locksmiths such as Lincoln Security are employing our capabilities.” For more information, please visit www.assa.co.uk.
